Message of TA Networking Corp.

Message from the President

In October 2000, TA Networking Corp. was founded by experts who had extensive experience working in the field of international cooperation. There were two main purposes for TA's foundation. For one thing, in developing countries, experts worked as members of teams led by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). However, in Japan, many experts worked on an individual basis and disconnected from each other. Thus, I saw a need for a home ground in Japan where we could share information and resources. Also, in many cases, teams for international cooperation projects, particularly involving technical cooperation, were composed of different members each dispatch. Thus, it was difficult to build Japanese-style teamwork. Furthermore, looking at global trends such as USAID’s style of project implementation, I anticipated that, in the near future, efficient implementation that collectively contracted private consulting companies like ours would be the trend in international cooperation. Fortunately, my anticipation proved correct. Currently, we have contracts for two technical cooperation projects in Africa for which JICA delegated private consulting companies. However, while I say that I anticipated this scenario, reaching it involved a long journey. On the road to the current situation, there were many changes in the field of international cooperation, such as the success of consulting companies focused on project evaluation, the emergence of NGOs in international cooperation, and the privatization of national universities. While keeping pace with these developments by implementing project evaluation backed up by our extensive experience in the field, cooperating with the JICA Expert Conference Kanagawa (JECK) and its affiliated NPO organization, JECK Associates, as well as academic institutions such as Oita University and the University of the Ryukyus, I worked to realize my original intention: to provide a home ground for experts and build teamwork for international cooperation. In order to maintain the steady and strong progress of our company in the future, we need your understanding, support and cooperation more than ever. Using this occasion of the revision of our website, I would like to say that we look forward to our continuing relationship with you.
